1. Before You Book
Thank you for considering Lawson Stanford Lawyers.
We offer two types of appointments for new enquiries:
1) Instant Legal Consultation – 60 minutes for $330
This is a fixed fee legal consultation for new clients seeking immediate legal advice, an initial consultation, or a second opinion.
Following completion of a conflict check and prior to the consultation, we will review your situation and any documents provided within a reasonable scope, and identify key issues and risks. During the consultation, we will take your instructions, explain the relevant issues and risks, guide you through the available legal pathways, and outline clear next steps tailored to your needs.
Following the consultation, you will generally receive an email summarising the discussion, together with a Costs Disclosure and Costs Agreement outlining our proposed scope of work and estimated fees.
2) Free Call up to 30 minutes
This is a short introductory discussion to help us understand your circumstances, identify the nature of your enquiry, and assess whether we may be able to assist you.
No legal advice will be provided during this appointment, and no documents will be reviewed prior to or during the free call.
Where appropriate, you may be invited to schedule a formal legal consultation, or we may provide you with a Costs Disclosure and Costs Agreement if your legal needs are sufficiently clear.
2. After Your Appointment Is Scheduled
Once your appointment is scheduled, our team will contact you by email to request information required for conflict checking and preparation.
You may be asked to provide:
- your full name and contact details;
- the names of all relevant parties;
- a brief summary of your matter; and
- key documents relevant to your enquiry (documents will only be reviewed after conflict clearance and for paid consultations only).
Providing accurate and complete information will assist us in preparing for your appointment efficiently.
3. Important Information Before Booking
Please read the following carefully before making an appointment. By proceeding with your booking, you acknowledge and accept the following:
- Booking an appointment does not mean we act for you.
- We must complete a conflict check before accepting any instructions, or answer any of your legal questions.
- The Free Call is for general information only. No legal advice will be provided during this appointment.
- The Instant Legal Consultation provides a preliminary assessment based on the information available at the time. Any advice expressed may change if further information or documents become available.
- Please do not send highly sensitive or urgent confidential material until we confirm that we are able to act.
- If we are able to assist and you wish to proceed, we will usually provide a Costs Disclosure and Costs Agreement before commencing substantive legal work.
